This project is timely as the alternative tourism accommodation market is poised for growth, making Epic Stays of high value to European tourism SMEs, particularly those in remote, rural regions. Ultimately, the project will help refocus European tourism VET and SMEs for a more sustainable, resilient, and prosperous future in this field.
Epic Stays Challenges and Opportunities Compendium delves deep into understanding the shift towards alternative tourism accommodation in Europe. Through extensive research, analysis and learning activities, it analyses the drivers, benefits, and challenges of this trend, spotlighting case studies from existing businesses, partner countries and regions for maximum impact. Expect to learn from exemplary suggested good practices, and existing tried and tested business models adaptable to sustainable tourism practices.
Epic Stays Online Curriculum and VET Course is dedicated to bridging existing skills gaps and empowering tourism SME businesses to capitalise on the potential of alternative accommodation. The curriculum is flexible and adaptable for various VET settings, it includes an online course suitable for educators and caters to self-directed business learning. Content aims to meet evolving industry demands and address business challenges. It includes interactive lessons, multimedia content, and practical exercises, learners develop how to tailor their business for success in the growing niche market of alternative accommodation.
Epic Stays Capacity Building for Sustainability resources and supports ensure that Epic Stays activities and educational resources are developed and produced with the involvement, integration, and attendance of our important stakeholders. There will be a series of outreach and promotional activities to raise awareness, integrate stakeholder inclusion, and endorse a commitment to the importance of alternative tourism accommodation. Capacity building will be delivered through a series of hybrid conferences, mentor-style clinics, and workshops to facilitate discussion and provide a dedicated space for personalised practical assistance and guidance to educators and learners.
